"Flair is a primitive kind of style. It is innate and cannot be taught. It can be polished and refined. When a person has flair, a grounding in the principle of design, and self-discipline, that person has the potential of being an outstanding designer."

Say it ain't so!

A Note from Editor in Chief Karen Carroll
As many of you may have heard by now, Southern Accents is closing and the September-October issue will be our last. For the past 32 years, it has been our great privilege to work with so many talented, creative people to showcase beautiful houses and gardens, and to be a champion of the gracious lifestyle of this wonderful region we call home. We deeply appreciate the loyalty and support that our readers–both of the magazine and our blog–have shown us. You are the reason it has been such a joy to be a part of this industry and we appreciate you more than we can say.

First Domino Magazine now Southern accents! What is going on! Unfortunately in an economic recession, we have to cut back on many luxuries, including saving a couple of bucks a month on a magazine(or magazines). So let's try and keep the rest of these wonderful Interior Design & Decorating magazines alive to prosper and enrich our imaginations. Instead of spending money going out to lunch, pack a lunch and grab a Interior Design magazine and gush over the gorgeous rooms while you eat your lovely and healthy turkey sandwich with an apple and Reduced Fat Kettle Chips(and even a diet coke for those DC junkies like me)!
So in honor of Southern Accents, here are a couple of my favorite rooms! You can still see many of their design photos on My Home Ideas
